The purpose of pageant rounds is to show the judges and audience your personality and how confident you can be in different outfits. When you enter a competition and get accepted you should receive a welcome pack/finalist pack telling you about the competition and what rounds/outfits are included.
Opening round - The opening round is the first time you come on stage and introduce yourself. This round in most competitions will not be judged and is a chance for you to introduce your self to everyone.
Swimwear round - The swimwear round is only in a few pageants. The director of the pageant will inform you whether you have to wear either a bikini or swimwear and if they want you to wear your own, or wear a custom made swimwear by them.
Evening gown round - The evening gown round is usually at the end of the competition before the judges make their final score. Remember to get a dress that works for you and practice walking in heels to make sure the dress isn't going to get in the way of you walking.
Talent round - The talent round is introduced only in a few competitions so contestants can express themselves and show their personality/talents. When showing a talent you should inform the director beforehand of your chosen talent to ensure it is acceptable.
Interview 1-1 - The interview can be one of the hardest parts during the competition. The interview round is made up of questions asked by the judges in a 1-1 setting, where you should try to answer them to the best of your knowledge whilst keeping a professional mind set.
